Every tennis career is made of individual matches. Some become defining moments; others disappear into the record.
Roger Federer's career unfolded over more than two decades. Often regarded as the greatest of all time (despite it being subjective), the now-retired Swiss player built a legacy through trophies, victories, and extraordinary consistency. But even Federer knew that greatness was never a matter of perfection.
In a recent speech, Federer said,
"Perfection is impossible."
He continued to add that in the all single matches he played in his career, he won almost 80% of those matches.
"But what percentage of points did I win? 54%!", he declared.
At his level and position, Federer knows that losing is just part of the game and even top ranked tennis players win barely more than half of the points they play.
